ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
From Lucy & Ethyl (a.k.a. Denise & Sharon) :
TO THE WEB MASTER: Denise and I
want to hail a sincere thank you to Felix Goins. He casually and unselfishly
offered to help an aged woman tidy up her site when she asked about a
computer disc. He then gave of himself to go the hundredth mile to build
this web site--a beautiful "kitchen" for women to enjoy as they sit at
our kitchen table, have a cup of coffee, and listen to aged women speak
their hearts about the God they love. Thank you Felix for giving your
time and talent first to God...and then to "Lucy" and "Ethyl".
From Denise:
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the people in my life who
have made it possible to create and maintain this website.
I would first like to thank
my oldest son, Evan. Without his computer knowledge, these two,
older, computer challenged ladies would still be writing out our thoughts
on legal pads with pencils and mailing them out to friends. Evan
is a very special young man. We have a very special relationship,
and I love him very much.
I also would like to thank Susan
Culler, without whom Caleb would not have survived. This wonderful
friend has taken care of Caleb on those hot summer days when he needed
a healthy distraction. I love her like a sister, she is very important
to me.
And this site would never have
been a reality, without my dear friend and spiritual mother, Sharon.
She has no idea the gap she has filled in my life, and I love her for
always being there for me. This site is my gift to her.
From Sharon:
To Denise a thank you seems so insignificant. You came to me when
life was a whirlwind for you. In time You felt my heartbeat for my Abba
Father and heard my frustration about not being able to give back what
God has taught me and done for me. You have experienced with me my broken
heart in the trial of our lives with our precious son, and you saw my
hurt over broken dreams. Then, in your wonderful "Denise" way you 'took
the bull by the horns' -- pulled 'mom rank ' on your older son...and created
the rainbow God was waiting for human hands to give to me...the birth
of this website. I love you like a daughter (tho I really would have been
a child bride) and I cherish your loving friendship.
I want to thank my husband Peter...the
most unselfish, caring, and generous man that I have ever known. For several
years he has heard my desire to teach women...and to be able to reach
and help the once abused women in our churches. When I presented this
opportunity--a web site--to him he lovingly provided all of the monies
needed to start...at a time when he could have easily and rightfully said
no. I thank him for believing in me and being an encourager in this quest
to make a difference in the lives of women--a difference for God.
I also want to thank my son
Joe for his patient and repetitive teaching me about using a computer
for more than a typewriter...even when he often said that people my age
ought not to have anything electronic. c: Thanks Joe for so often
coming over and untangling the mess I made on the hard drive--even when
you did not feel well. You wanted your mom to learn...even though I often
gave you a headache.
And to my daughter Kristina...thank
you for our joint "very best friends" status. Your love and friendship
have always been every needed human thing lacking at any moment to keep
me wanting to serve God in every way possible. You are my cheerleader
and certainly are a miracle blessing and my dearest friend.
