My Prayer

There is a side of grace and good where evil does abide,

Premeditated just to hurt, to quell the swelling tide,

Of justice, mercy, truth and light, to crush God's Word divine,

Lord, may I only speak in peace, not hide the Light sublime.

Your tender hands of love reach out, they want to hold us close,

Yet we reject your tender grasp, through works and deeds we boast.

Help me to send your message clear, your Light, your Truth, your Way,

You woke me up while in a storm, You shed the light of day,

Upon my poor black, guilt racked soul, You taught me to set still,

You whispered peace and hope and comfort, where once was just MY will

Dear Holy God, help me to pass this message to the rest,

To all your children of the earth, "YOUR, Word, YOUR will is BEST."
