Only One Daughter

I have two sons, one older, one young,

but only one daughter have I. 

I long for the day, when in heaven she’ll know,

how much I have wondered and sighed......

Of the could’s and the should’s, of the tears I have cried,

the nights I have laid long awake. 

Just wondering how she is doing and Lord,

please bless and forgive my past sins. 

Take care of her please and her own little girl,

don’t allow her to make my mistakes,

but keep her safe, please, let her sail on the breeze

of Your love and Mine also, Amen.
