Titus 2 Men And Women

He Calls Me
by Doris Smith

Like the man standing before the burning bush,
I professed my insignificance,
And He said unto me as unto him
“I will be with you and this will be a sign to you that it is I who have sent you.”
It wasn’t my own words or my ability that He wanted.
It was my heart, my soul, and my servitude that He asked for.
Like the mighty God that He is,
He told me who I was. . .
Small, insignificant, and useless,
But only without Him.
With Him I could lead a nation, touch millions, or simply be still and know. . .
To know that He is God.
That He loves me beyond my insignificance, beyond my self-pity,
And beyond my millions of other flaws.
He is my God and King,
And beyond all He loves me
And He calls me.
He calls me . . .
I hear His voice at night
And I see His eyes glance down from the starry skies.
I know, I know, oh, how sweetly I know that He is God.
And that He blows a breeze my way,
And He says, “Feed my sheep.”
And I do,
And He says, “well done my child.”
And He calls me . . .
He Calls me His child!
