A WARNING TO BE CAUTIOUS!
Romans Chapter 1
MEMORY VERSE: ROMANS 1:25
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and
served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for
ever. Amen.
Vs. 1-13
Paul knew he was separated from the world, and he wanted to see
the Gospel spread to everyone. He was writing a letter to the
Church at Rome, and He exhorted them for their faith and the fact
that is was spreading throughout the world.
As was made known in Acts 10:34 Paul did not have any
discrimination as to who he shared the Gospel with. The Greeks
were friends of the Romans, they were considered cultured,
educated, and civilized. The Barbarians on the other hand were
not always friendly, and were considered pagans, and heathens.
Paul displayed a great example of what a missionarys
attitude should be. His body wanted to be with the Church at Rome
but the Lord was calling him to other places, he had a burning
desire to see the Gospel spread and for others to get saved even
when it was not convenient for him.
Vs. 14-16
These are Pauls three I AMs
Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the
Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
We need to realize that we are each a debtor to God and it is our
honor to do all that we can to share the Gospel. (1 Co 9:16)
Romans 1:15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the
gospel to you that are at Rome also.
Just like Paul we need to be to ready to tell every one we meet
about the gospel (1 Peter 3:15) because it is our responsibility
as Christians.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it
is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
We should be so over come with gratitude of what God has done for
us that we want to tell every one who will listen about Him and
His Greatness. These 3 verses should be the pattern of life for
every Christian.
Vs. 17-32
In these verses Paul was making them aware of what was going on
in the world and was warning them to be cautious. Warning that
there are those in this world that defile the way God meant for
things to be. There were those who made their own gods, and were
doing impure things, they were backward in there way of thinking.
They chose not to acknowledge God as God so he gave them over to
a reprobate (unqualified) mind, (vs. 28)
They knew of Gods judgment and that the penalty for the sin
that they were doing was death, yet they had pleasure in what
they were doing, and kept it up.(vs.32)
Through it all Pauls ultimate objective was for people to be saved and
to see Churches started.
