Titus 2 Men And Women

What You See Is What You Get
by Jerry Vegter

"Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man. I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy." (Prov.30:2,3)

To coin a popular phrase, "This man is an animal," meaning that this man majors in the rough and tough side of life; not the intellectual side. Either this guy was a truly humble person, or he had a serious low esteem problem. I understand where he is coming from...No one has ever mistook me for an intellectual. No one will ever read what I write and conclude that this man is a "deep thinker." I may dig "ditches" that are so deep it is difficult to climb back to level ground. But, mentally deep--No! I'm a "rabbit chaser." When I go on a "mental hunt," I won't be coming back with any big game. More likely, just a "whittle" rabbit. It's enough to keep you going, but not enough to consider it as having been a feast. Like this guy, Agur, I don't mind. God made some of us to enjoy mental work, while others enjoy working their bodies, and others like to do more of one and some of the other. I have diligently worked at becoming a good basketball player for the past twenty years. It "ain't gonna' happen." College boys will allow me to play with them, but it isn't because I'm good. Becoming a mental giant "ain't gonna' happen." I can stretch and I can gain, but there is a limit. I don't MIND. I am content to be exactly what God intended me to be. If it wasn't for a spell checker, you would have a difficult time identifying words. When it comes to math, I use all available fingers and toes. I don't think fast, and don't think that I'm being humble. Those who know me, know that this can not be. I don't think that I have low esteem. I'm just facing the facts.

I am grateful to my heavenly Father for making me exactly as I am. Many people think that they could have done a better job on themselves than God did. If they could, they would change this or that. Right! After the remake job, they would also say, "This is a fine mess that you have gotten us into!" No human can do better than God. He has made us exactly to order, and if there are "defiencies," He has the grace that is needed to live with these problems, or to overcome them.

We have all been "made to order." God knew exactly what He was doing, and His ways are always the best ways!
