Kristina and Joe

(Our son Joe has gained victory over an 8 1/2 year battle with an inoperable brain tumor.  We prayed so diligently for God to heal him. God did perfectly heal Joe early on Monday morning when he took our son to Heaven for a perfect healing in a perfect place.  Kristina wrote this poem for her brother and it was read at his funeral.
----Sharon)

Please bear with me as I share
Bout the greatest brother beyond compare
He was so sweet and dear to me
The kindest man you’ll ever see.

To parents proud, a son so grand
While one dear wife would hold his hand
But to his sister one and only
He was my dear sweet sweet Joey.

"Joey play with me" I would say,
On the floor with comics we would stay
"Please sit with me while we watch ‘Anne’"
He would cry, " No, not again"

"Joey, I feel sick" I’d say,
And by my side he would stay
"Can you please read a book?"
With eyes of wonder I would look.

"Do you remember the goats mom bought?
And on the neighbors porch we caught...
Them trying to steal her precious trees
For forgiveness we’d plead on our knees."

"Or about the time you pushed me down.
Of course when mom and dad weren’t ‘round.
And you pleaded with me not to tell,
Cause you thought for sure mom and dad would yell."

"Remember when mom would make us play?
On piano and flute all the day.
And grandma just couldn’t get enough
Even if the notes sounded rough."

"Oh Joey, I can’t believe you’re gone
But thank the Lord it won’t be long
Till I can see you and kiss your face
But until then we’ll run our race."

"For life is just a vapor here
And death’s cold sting we do not fear.
For Jesus died that we might live.
His free salvation He did give."

"I miss you tons Oh why’d you go?
But here on earth we will not know.
The rhyme and reason of our God
Why He on earth has left us trod."

"For now you’re with my Preacher Hyles
And you have seen Mrs. Evan’s smiles
I’m jealous of you my dear Joe,
But wish you did not have to go."

"Give grandpa a hug and my dear baby
Who has now become a little lady.
Enjoy your great big mansion grand
And heaven’s beautiful fair land."

"I’m glad on earth your suffering’s done
And you have seen God’s precious son.
But here on earth a sister’s lonely
For her dear sweet wonderful Joey."
