Kristina & her mom (Sharon)

Kristina & her dad (Peter)

How can I portray the ones
Who’ve spanked me some and loved me tons?
They are my sweet mom and dad,
The greatest parents a child could have.

From eight months old they took me in,
Their own they said, their next of kin.
Though not their blood, I did not know,
My love for mom and dad did grow.

When I was little, only eight
Mom showed to me my awful fate.
So into my heart Jesus came,
And I would never be the same.

Would I have Jesus in my heart
Had mom and dad not done their part?
Thank you both for standing strong,
For now to Jesus I belong.

"Please daddy can we go play ball?"
Though I was so very small.
You’d play with me for hours on end,
And helping hands you’d always lend.

"Mommy can I help you cook?’
And with a smile at me you’d look.
Though I would be a great big mess,
And get the flour on my dress.

A tomboy was I and very loud.
But I wanted you to be so proud.
To call me as your very own
A daughter to you and you alone.

"Joe is sick," the doctor said,
And with a sigh dad bowed his head.
But strong he stayed, for his dears
Tho torn with pain and racked with fear.

And through eight years of misery
We searched and searched for victory
And through it all my mom and dad
Stayed strong and true, by Joe’s bed.

Life soon changed, it was God’s plan,
Joe became a very sick man
We were so close, the four of us
And in our God we all did trust.

Joe went to heaven on a Monday,
And guess where mom and dad were Wednesday?
In church, of course just like before
To hear about heaven’s fair shore.

And now it’s just the three of us
Tho Andy makes four, and that’s a must.
We will cry and burdens share
But on our face a smile we’ll wear.

For we will see our Joe again
In that fair and happy land.
But on this earth our job’s not done,
Till we all see God’s dear son.

How can I portray the ones
Who’ve spanked me some and loved me tons.
They are my sweet mom and dad,
The greatest parents a child HAS had.

I love you mom and dad.  Thank you for encouraging me to be myself.  Thank you for all the love and support you have given me throughout the years.   Thank you for standing true to God, and being the best examples a child could have!

I love you,
Kristina

P.S.  Daddy, Thank you for always giving me anything I’ve ever wanted!  I love you.
