Good day to you! I would like to share with you a small part of what God has done in my life. I am the oldest of ten children from a Wisconsin farm family. Living on a farm meant a lot of work and we were always busy with something, but I am thankful that from the time I was young my parents had a desire to be in church when the doors were opened. As I entered the first grade, the Lord impressed upon my parents' hearts the need to send their children to a Christian school. That began a Christian school career for me that still has not ended, for God has given me the opportunity now to be a teacher. Growing up I often recited the following story when asked about my salvation. "While I rode in the car one day with my mother, I asked her questions about the Bible and Jesus, and prayed then to be saved." But to me that was only a story. As time passed the Holy Spirit convicted me over and over about my salvation. In my heart I knew I was not saved, but I clung to my "story", too proud to do anything about it. "After all," I told myself, "I was old, a junior in high school, and what would all those people I so wanted to impress think? Besides, I was a good kid, and I obeyed my parents." In reality I was only a cooperative rebel. It was during a week of school camp that I admitted to the Lord that I was not saved and could not save myself. I needed a Savior. I asked the Lord to forgive me then for my sins, especially my pride, and save me, and I've never doubted His saving power since. I am so thankful God is patient! Following graduation from high school I attended one year of Bible college, but only because people told me too, and not because I had sought the Lord's will. I did not go back to college after that year, but chose instead a year and a half of living as I wanted to. How miserable I was! Praise the Lord He helped me to see my pattern of living for the rebellion that it was, and gently drew me back to Himself. I went back to college, a Bible preaching college, and graduated with a degree
in education. The Lord has graciously allowed me to teach at a small Christian
school in Wisconsin for several years now, and opened other doors of opportunity
as well. I am continually amazed when I think about God's great gifts to me.
I feel as the prophet Jeremiah when he said in Jeremiah 1:6, "Ah, Lord
God! Behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child." God's answer to Jeremiah
in verse 7 of that same chapter holds true for me as well. "But the Lord
said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send
thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak." And, oh, God is
faithful!
