Hosea 14:9

"The Ways Of The LORD Are Right"

"Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein." (Hosea 14:9)

"The ways of the Lord are right", as mysterious as they seem to be to us. The Lord knows who are His; they are the wise, and the prudent that walk in His ways. He will love us freely, (v. 4) and heal our backslidings, yes, God is a God of a second chance. He is longsuffering and very merciful, and will forgive us when we come back to His loving arms, but woe to the evil ones, the transgressors who continue in their sin and ignore the grace bestowed upon them. The evil-doers shall be judged, and found wanting, and the Lord will remove His mercy from them. The Bible says that wise men will understand these things, while fools will fall in their folly. So, as the text verse asks, "Who is wise?" Are you walking among the wise? "The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom"…(Job 28:28), while prudence is:

PRUDENT, a. Cautious; circumspect; practically wise; careful of the consequences of enterprises, measures or actions; cautious not to act when the end is of doubtful utility, or probably impracticable.

Prudence is carefulness; it is caution in our actions, and walking circumspectly; being aware of what is around us, be it danger or blessing. "the prudent man looketh well to his going." Proverbs 14: 15. These are the wise and the prudent, they know where they are going.

So dear friend, which is it for you? Will you be wise, or foolish? Will you walk in the fear of the Lord, or fall into the pit of this worlds making? Our God is waiting for you at Calvary, will you join Him there? Meet Him half way, and begin the upward climb. Perhaps your life is going downhill, and you see yourself falling…falling into perdition, take God's Gift of eternal Life in Jesus, and you can live forevermore in glory.
