Hosea 1:7

God our Deliverer 

"But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen." (Hosea chapter 1:7)

God always gives His promise of Hope and deliverance. Israel, (Judah) would sink into the deepest depths of sin and despair, but God would be their Champion. He is our Champion too, to defeat all our enemies of confusion, despondency, hatred, etc. Notice though, that God makes it very clear that it is He that delivers us, and not we ourselves. He is going to do it miraculously too! God will deliver us, protect us, keep us, by His own Might and means.

What joy it brings to my heart to know that God cares so much for me! He is going to deliver us personally, and always will, but not by man's will or means. "By the word of His mouth" it shall be done, by the Word of His mouth is the promise given. The race is not to the swift, the battle is not to the strong, but God is the Victory! Talent and agility are only weak tools and toys to amuse us here on earth. They are not where the victory lies.

Don't think, oh talented friend, that you are something special because of your talent, because it is God that fights your battles, and He only gives the victory, and the successes. When He moves, it is obvious, if we get out of the way, and forget our abilities, (or disabilities). "Let God be God". He doesn't need man's instrumentality, although many times He chooses to use us to our great joy and privilege. He is more than capable of performing all His wondrous works without any one of us. As we read above, He will not save us by mans means, but by His own Mighty hand. Not even by battle will He save us, but by the Lord our God, what a blessing it is to know Him and to have Him as our Champion.
