Isaiah 59:14

Judgement Turned Backward

Isaiah 59: 14 "And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter."

Things today seem to be completely helter-skelter! Judgment has turned back on the victim, and not the victimizer! Why? Because "Truth has fallen in the streets"... and therefore... "equity cannot enter".
"Fallen truth" is a great hindrance in society today: Let the Truth of God prevail! Keep Truth alive! We ought to preserve the Truth in our hearts, in our lives, and in our speech. We need to shout the message from the rooftops, and work diligently to see it unfold. Truth has fallen, and it's our fault! Are not we (Christians), in a sense, the "guardians of Truth"? The Lord is the True Guardian of Truth, we know, but our responsibility is also to be as He is. Preach the truth, at all cost. How will we yearn for Truth one day, when we see it no more? Truth is fallen in the street. Everywhere we look we see the demise of Truth nowadays; we see degradation, despair, deception, and "justice standeth afar off." This verse says it all, the depravity of our society is depicted here, and the echoes of grace have long faded away. America is on her way down, even to the extent that "He that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey." (v. 15) The enemies of Truth surround us, biding their time; waiting for that moment of weakness; of fear; of unbelief. Will ye stand upon the Truth of God, my friend? Will ye fight the fight of faith? Grasp hold of Truth and let it not go; lest judgment turns its back on us, and justice will not approach unto us. What a verse! What a warning for us!

What can we do to remedy the situation? We all have a part. We each can proclaim the truth, and take it to the streets. We can attack Satan head on, in the street, right where truth is fallen. We can "charge hell with a squirt gun" as the saying goes, and we can prevail because we have Jesus on our side, and the gates of hell will not prevail against us; we have a promise, as well as a Personage. So, let's go! Everyone can do something, maybe not the one on one confrontation type of soul winning, but the giving out of a Gospel tract may be for you. Or the phoning of a friend, or a letter to new neighbors in the neighborhood. There are multitudes of ideas and ways of spreading the Word, the Word of Truth. It must be done, and we must do it. One preacher said, "If you take the 'go' out of the Gospel, all there is left is a spell"!
