Take Time To Be
by David M. Atkinson
Take time to do with life's tender
little kindnesses,
to heal those broken,
by some kind words spoken
to guide them out of blindness.
Oh, take the time to see
all that God would have thee see;
But take time to be,
So thy doing speak reality.
Take time to work in the vineyard
reaping, ready, ripe;
The vine to prune, Satan's plan to ruin,
the tears of penitents to wipe.
Oh, take the time to flee all
that God would have thee flee;
But take the time to be;
So with joy thy harvest plucked may be.
Take time to be,
So thy doings speak reality;
With a fresh anointing pervading all.
Take time to be
So you've grace when trials press you,
Take time to be--
Spend time alone with God.
Take time to go on a mission
or a holy cause;
Give strength and might,
scatter sin's dark night,
And at hell's onslaughts nor faint,
nor pause.
Oh, take the time to free
all that God would have thee free;
But take the time to be;
So your cause be His and there be He
Take time to be,
So thy doings speak reality;
With a fresh anointing pervading all.
Take time to be
So you've grace when trials press you,
Take time to be--
Spend time alone with God.
