What is a Christian walk? Sometimes we becomes so used to saying the "words" that we lose their meaning. Surely we don’t mean a specific trail or path. We aren’t referring to a concrete sidewalk. Yes, all born again Christians are going to Heaven, but we are doing different jobs, living different lives. Well, then maybe it’s having the correct swagger, posture or telltale mark. Now I know you think that’s silly but think about it a minute. Have you ever noticed that you can identify some people’s occupation by their walk? A sailor has a rolling gait; the military man a proud upright posture, a policeman the upper body and arm swing. A nurse is usually hustling. A suntanned left arm usually indicates a professional driver. Tanned neck, face and hands are clues to an outdoor job. There are many indications of how we earn our living. Are there marks in our life that indicate we are Christians? There should be strong indications. Let’s look at some Bible verses to see what characteristics we might expect. In Exodus 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. Exodus 34:28 & 29 And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tablets of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. Knowing the goodness, the graciousness, the glory of God and spending time in his presence changes our appearance. Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. Spending time with Jesus gives us boldness to speak, to clearly explain Salvation, to vocalize our faith. You do not need a Bible College degree; you just need to spend time with Jesus. Yes, we think it would have been easier to be Moses and get to actually see with our eyes God’s glory, but wait...we have seen His glory in Salvation. Moses was trusting God that the Messiah would come as promised. We trust the completed work of Calvary. Before Christ died he spoke many of the words that we now have written and He promised us a comforter. The Greek word is parakletos = advocate, intercessor, comforter. The word is where we get our word parasite. The Holy Spirit is with us and He won’t let go. The job of the Holy Spirit is to reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment, and to glorify Jesus, and to show it unto us. John 16:8 & 14
