Like Moses in the desert land
Where I've run away to hide
In a lonely world of failure and defeat
I see a fascinating wonder
In the distant flame of God
But I don't believe that miracle's for me.

Though I'm drawn to view the mystery,
In my heart I still believe
That my life is just the way it's going to be.
While I yearn to know His power
Still I flinch away in doubt
'Til I hear that God is calling out to me --

Step up to the flame!
Let the fire of My holiness transform you!
Don't be afraid
Just be awed and amazed
That its burning purifies you
When you step up to the flame!

There's another fire that faces me
As it did so long ago
When three Hebrew men were told to bow one day;
They could compromise a little --
Have a chance to stay alive;
They could save their lives and serve another way.

But like them, in my heart I see
Underneath what seems is true
There's a more important choice I have to make
Will I grasp tomorrow tightly
Or give up my life to Him?
That's His question when I hear God clearly say --

Step into the flame!
Let the fire of My holiness consume you!
Don't be afraid
Just be awed and amazed
That you'll find me in the furnace
When you step into the flame!
