Kristina and her 1st through 3rd Grade Class

Lunch Time With Kids

At lunch one day, one of my boys in my class raised his hand and said, "Mrs. A, I am full. May I be done with my sandwich?" I checked to see how much he had eaten and I was pleased , so I told him that he may be done. Not a minute had passed and I saw that same student eating a piece of candy. I asked him what he was eating and he said, "Candy." I said, "I thought you were full though." He said, "Oh, Mrs. A, that is my regular food stomach that is full. I have four stomachs. One is for regular food, one is for beverages, one is for dessert, and one is for candy. My candy stomach is not even close to being full."

Be careful how you treat your spouse in front of your children…because they do tell all.

One morning I asked if any of the children had any prayer requests. One of my students raised their hand and said, "Please pray for my mom and dad." I should have stopped there, but I made a mistake and asked, "Why, are they sick?" The reply was, "Well, I'm not quite sure, my dad might be. This morning they were fighting and my mom threw a glass at my dad and it hit him on the head. I sure hope he doesn't have a headache."
Needless to say, I found out a little bit more about that family than I wanted to that day.

Sunday School

How does her hair look?
This morning in Sunday School one of the three year old girls said to one of the 3 year old boys. "How does my hair look?"  It is funny how even little children care about their appearance. I used that in my lesson for Sunday School and told them how Jesus want us to be pretty inside as well as outside.

Talkative Sisters

One day last week, we were discussing sisters. One of the boys in my class just had a baby girl added to his family and he was so proud as he talked about her.
Another boy piped up and said, "Just wait until she can talk." "My sister talks so much she is going to set a world record. We could even make millions by announcing her on the news as the world's biggest talker." "We could build a new church building with all of the money we would make." He then finished by saying, "Her mouth is going to get so sore that it is going to dry up and fall off…and oh, what silence there will be."
