Offices in Northwest Indiana and Southeast Chicago, Illinois
region
Our counseling centers in Northwest Indiana and Southeast Chicago
region and our computer centers are staffed with dedicated and
compassionate men and women who are born again Christians.
Our counselors are not people with secular degrees in psychology
or counseling. Most of our counselors have been trained by the
American Association of Christian Counselors and offer listening,
caring, and our sharing of God's Word as the answer to every situation
in life. It is their desire to encourage people to face the sin
and baggage of their past, the pain and frustration of their present,
and the glorious hope for their future that is available to all
who seek God’s will in the light of God’s Word the Holy Bible.
The staff counselors do not want to replace the counsel Christians
receive through daily fervent prayer, reading one's Bible, nor
the wise counsel of an individual's pastor. However, we do know
some people have difficulty finding the answers they need.
Our counselors will pray for and encourage each counselee. However,
only God has the answers for all of life's problems. Each counselee
will be asked to read Bible text, to learn spiritual principles
and then to apply the principles learned from the Holy Bible to
daily living.
Our lay-counselors always want to provide the best answers for
every question we are asked and every situation we may face. When
we feel it is needed for the counselors and/or the counselees
benefit we reserve the privilege to share counseling information.
As our counseling ministry developed we discussed a need for some
stated principles that guide our counseling. These are the guidelines
that we follow with those we counsel.
COUNSELOR GUIDELINES
Counseling answers will be based on scripture. II Timothy 3:16&17
says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works."
Counselors will maintain accountability to God and each other.
Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where no counsel is, the people fall: but
in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Proverbs 15:22
says, "Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude
of counselors they are established." Proverbs 24:6 says, "For
by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counselors
there is safety."
Counselors will seek discernment from the Holy Spirit. John 14:26
says, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father
will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
Every answer will be bathed in prayer. James 5:16 says, "Confess
your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye
may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man
availeth much."
