From The Crossley's
June 2002 Report

Full House (Casa Plina)

Attendance was back up this month averaging 20-30 each meeting. A few of the village kids have been attending the last few weeks but I’m more and more convinced that we need to begin a new set of meetings focused strictly on the younger village street kids.

In last months report I shared that one Full House visitor had been saved recently, Odi has left the streets and is living with brother Petru and his wife. Under brother Petru’s discipleship Odi has shown tremendous growth helping occasionally at Full House and also participating with the evangelism team.

Evangelism Team

We have finally begun evangelism meetings in Harmon and it’s exciting to see the Lord work. This is my first experience in a ministry starting at the very beginning and I’ve been very fortunate to have the example and guidance of Petru, a verteran Romanian missionary. He is very familiar with what methods work and don’t work with Romanians. The first few meetings I just watched him and learned some valuable information. At our first visit we went to two separate locations and between the two had over 100 people attend. Though later meetings weren’t as highly attending they are averaging 40-50. At our last meeting 5 people professed faith and we have been meeting with interested people in their homes.

Besides the work God is doing with the visitors, I’ve really enjoyed the kinship developing among the Evangelism Team participants. We usually have 12 workers. They are devoted, the people love them and they love doing this work.

Children’s Home

We have found another house to rent as we continue to pray that God will provide a permanent location. It is extremely difficult to find someone to rent to a household with 9 children. Those who will, know our options are limited and take full advantage of our dilemma. The new place is within walking distance of Bran Castle (associated with the Dracula folklore). Being out of the city will allow the kids to do more outdoor activities.

We continue to pray that the Lord will give us the building in Vilcele. Though the owner wants us to get the building, she has not yet given any indication of God moving her heart to donate. Pray for Elena Scurtu, that God will do just that! Meanwhile, several Americans have donated funds for both a permanent home and a vehicle (we will have to use buses to commute to Brasov from Bran). So far we’ve received $ 2053.00 toward a building for a Children’s Home and $ 2100.00 for a vehicle. We thank all those who have given to these special needs as well as those whose regular giving, feed and clothe our family and the children in our home.
