From The Crossley's
December 2002 Report

PROJECT: ROMANIA

A Ministry of Greenacres Missionary Baptist Church

We apologize for being so late getting the report out.  Between the California deputation appointments and our son’s wedding it was difficult to get the chance to send it.  Now that the wedding is done we are trying to do some catch up.  Also there is a delay in the vehicle that we will be able to use for deputation and regrettably this will affect some of our appointments we will contact you and let you know if we will not be able to visit your church.  We apologize for this inconvenience and hope you understand this is beyond our control.  Our schedule is very tight but if possible we will try reschedule.

Children's Home

We want to thank the churches and families who gave special offerings for Christmas which gave the children in our home a special Christmas.  I wish you all could personally see the delight on the children’s faces.  This winter will be a test for the children and us as it is the first time we’ve left the home to return to the states for two and one half months.  I’m sure you can imagine these kids are very insecure about parental relationships and they we’re very shaken about our departure.  We could really use your prayers that God will see us all through this time of separation.

We had to empty the house one night in Dec. when a wall behind the fireplace began to smolder.  The fireplace had to be torn down.  It has been temporarily replaced with a small wood stove and we’ve been struggling to find a supply of firewood (our only heat source).  Several times we were only hours away from having no fuel at all when the Lord sent a man who sold us some of this own wood supply.  He was supposed to have a truckload to sell shortly after we left and I hope it arrived before the kids back home ran out of wood.

Only two weeks before leaving we finally found a woman to stay with the kids in our absence.  She is Anca’s mother and a very sweet lady.

We arrived in San Francisco, CA December 29th.  We have been visiting a few churches in California before our son’s wedding, after which we begin to head cross-country.  Our car is not ready yet but we hope it will be soon.  Lord willing we should be seeing you all within the next few months.

Harmon

We’ve been having great meetings.  Several of the kids have learned their books of the Bible through the OT and a number have made it through the NT as well.  Four kids want to be baptized and we’ve been working with them after the regular meetings.  We hope they will be baptized in the near future.  Two young ladies from Harmon have become very active in helping the kids learn their Bible books.  I hope this will develop in them a heart to become workers in the work at Harmon.  Florin will be continuing the meetings while we are in the states.

Full House / Little Flock

A container full of Christmas packages for orphans, village kids, Full house and Little Flock ministries was delayed by customs until it was too late to distribute by Christmas.  The packages will be distributed at a later date but we were thankful to be able to distribute some Christmas gifts to Full House, Little Flock and our own Children’s Home, which Jane Byers had sent earlier in the year.  If not for these gifts the street kids and sewer people might not have received anything at Christmas.  We thank Jane and every one else who gave sacrificially for so many in Romania.

There were three saved at Little Flock in December and two others informed us that they had accepted God’s gift of eternal life at previous meetings.  Please pray that these kids would be baptized and grow into a work force that can work in their home village of Tohanu Veci.
