Reassurance of Your Salvation

HAVE YOU ALREADY TRUSTED IN CHRIST AT SOME POINT IN YOUR LIFE, BUT ARE WONDERING FOR SURE YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY TO HEAVEN?

First, you must remember a time when you prayed and asked Jesus to save you.  It did not have to be in a church or with a pastor present, it could have been while watching a service on television, or while reading a tract in the street.  Understand this:  I John 5:13 states : "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."  The Bible tells us that we CAN know, but Satan, that Master Deceiver, will come and whisper doubts in your ear.

If you remember that special time, but are still not sure, then ask yourself these questions, based on the Bible.

1.  Did you truly confess your sins? I John 1:8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

2. Do you diligently try to keep His commandments? I John 2:3&4 "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandmets, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

3. Do you truthfully try to love others? I John 4:7&8 "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love."

4. Have you lost your love for the things of this world? I John 2:15 "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.  If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

5. Would others say you try to live in righteousness? I John 2:29 "If ye know that his is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him."

6. Do you diligently try to live without sinning? I John3:9 "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

7. Do you try to live without hatred in your heart? I John 4:20 "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?"

8. Do you give to others? I John 3:17 "But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need; and shutteth up his bowels of compassion fro him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?"

9. Do you act in ways that would not grieve the Holy Spirit? I John 4:13 "Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit."

If you can search your heart, my friend, and answer yes to any number of these questions, then the Bible teaches that you are on your way to heaven.  We ALL fall short of perfection when it comes to leading a sinless life.  Jesus was the only perfect man to walk this earth.  It is His GRACE that keeps us and His MERCY that sustains us.  It is His LOVE that motivates us and the LOVE He gave to us through His Son, that makes us want to live as Christ like as we can, learning and growing each passing day.

If you are still doubting where you will spend eternity, then please return to the top of this page, and pray and ask Jesus to save you.  God would rather  you be SURE, than take the chance of spending an eternity in Hell.  Remember, He is not willing that ANY should perish, II Peter 3:9.
