"Sharon Merhalski is addressing issues that have for too long been met only with silence by conservative, Bible-believing churches. In my opinion it takes courage and character to meet these areas of hurt and woundedness head-on. I have never worked with any woman who was more eager to serve under the leadership and guidance of her pastor than Sharon is. She has the complete support of her husband, Peter, and she has my support. If Bible-believing churches do not provide a forum for dealing with Sharon's concerns, they will continue to lose more people to the social gospel, pop-psychology churches.

It saddens me to say that some of our conservative churches have allowed a kind of authoritarianism to become a cloak for the covering up of horrendous sins, needs and problems in our own ranks. While we cannot turn back the clock, we can surely reach out to many who were left wounded and falling through the cracks in our rush to impress each other with our statistics.
